This hands-on class invites teens to go beyond snapshots and explore photography as a powerful storytelling tool. Students will learn how to combine technical skills with creative vision to create images that carry meaning and emotion. Through guided projects, they’ll practice using composition, perspective, and sequencing to craft visual narratives that reflect both their own lives and the world around them. Along the way, students strengthen their ability to communicate ideas, emotions, and stories through the lens.

What Makes This Course Different?

Storytelling First: Instead of focusing only on “how to take a picture,” this course teaches students how to use photography to express ideas and narratives with impact.

Exploring Perspectives: Teens will learn to see beyond the surface, capturing stories hidden in everyday spaces, people, and objects.

Hands-On Projects: Each week includes opportunities to experiment with creative prompts that emphasize narrative, theme, and emotion in photography.

Personalized Guidance: Students receive thoughtful, one-on-one feedback to help them refine both their technical ability and their artistic voice.

Most photography classes for teens emphasize either technical mastery or casual picture-taking. This course blends the two—giving students the tools to create meaningful visual stories that resonate. If you want your teen to discover how photography can communicate perspective, emotion, and message, this is the class for them
